Thisposition is responsible for promotingColorcon's Continuous Improvement culture andleading Continuous Improvement initiatives. Specifically, this position istasked to maintain Continuous Improvement programs, identifying processimprovement and cost savings opportunities, managing the implementation oftheir solutions, measuring the effectiveness of Continuous Improvementinitiatives, and assisting with Continuous Improvement events.
Responsibilities& Duties
Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and principles to problem solve delivering efficiencies and cost savings while promoting Quality and Safety. Lead improvement projects, coordinate with other functions (e.g. Engineering, Facilities, Procurement, Production) to ensure successful project completion for the Belen Site. Drive Colorcon's Continuous Improvement Culture through the Visual board system and Gemba walk methodology implemented in Belen, Including training, awareness, execution, metrics, and oversight/confirmation of implementation and effectiveness.
Provide Lean Six Sigma coaching and support to site including Yellow Belts, Green Belts and Support Specialist. Responsible for the Site 6s program, including training, awareness, execution, metrics, and oversight/confirmation of implementation and effectiveness. Identify opportunities to develop self in terms of knowledge and understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques and developments.
MinimumQualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Industrial Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of three years' experience in implementing Lean/Six Sigma projects in a manufacturing environment, with at least three kaizen or improvement events completed per year. Experience in the pharmaceutical or food industry is desired. Black Belt certification in Lean/Six Sigma or at least trained.
Understanding and experience w/ Process Excellence tools and techniques: -5S -FMEA & Control Plans -Visual Management -Value Stream Mapping (VSM) -Pull Systems -Takt Time/Cycle Time Reduction -Kaizen Events -Poka Yoke/Mistake Proofing -8 Forms of Waste -DMAIC, SPC, Gage R&R, etc. Lean Six Sigma or General Project Management experience preferred. Previous leadership or coaching experience preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, problem solving and analytical skills. Strong knowledge of spreadsheet (Excel), word processing, presentation software and ERP applications. Ability to work shifts and off hours as required
WorkingLocation
The position is based at Colorcon's Belen, NM manufacturing site, and is an on-site position. Working remotely from a home office will be facilitated when applicable and is at the manager's discretion. Travel: up to 10% domestic and global travel may be required, annually.
