Seasonal Character Ambassador/Events Team Member

Overview:
Being a part of the Events and Promotions Team means you are adding onto the excitement of a typical day at the Zoo. If you love the spotlight, youll love the chance to do meet-and-greets as a Character Ambassador! Plus, gain experience in onsite marketing as you assist with the production and execution of events, promotions and fundraisers. Were looking for creative, hard-working, enthusiastic contributions to our team who arent afraid to do what it takes to make it happen! Responsibilities:
Performs as costume character ambassador/guide during on-site and off-site promotional events. Assists in the set-up, implementation and clean-up of all Events and Promotions Happenings. Drives golf carts to transport guests to and from Zoo locations during events. Works a flexible schedule including weekends, weekdays, evenings and holidays as necessary. Functions as a strong team member in the Events and Promotions Department, assisting other areas and performing other duties as assigned. Creatively engages guests through a variety of hands-on activities. This may include, but is not limited to, leading interactive games, creating positive crowd participation and promoting zoo events to our guests/patrons. Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Computer knowledge/skills. Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills. Previous experience in childrens theatre, recreation, education, costume character performance or related job is helpful but not required. Able to handle the demands of working in full body costume: e. work in very hot conditions, move freely with limited peripheral vision in an oversized costume required.
Must be between 50 and 58 in height.
Weight must be proportionate to height, to be able to fit in required costumes. Able to balance multiple assignments successfully. Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, rain). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests and upholding the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards required. Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior. Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance. Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays. Subject to BMV check.
