NAFI Connecticut Inc. is a multi-service agency offering a wide range of residential, programming consultation, and personalized support to youth, families, and adults across Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island. With unique services designed for each state, we provide trauma-informed care and community-based youth programs in Connecticut, comprehensive family support and residential services for at-risk youth in New York, and targeted mental health services and crisis intervention in Rhode Island and so much more. Across all three states, our goal is to empower individuals and strengthen families. We are currently exploring candidates for Youth Counselor/Behavior Technician to work in our group homes in Prospect and New Britain. The group homes provide treatment for adolescent males ages 13 to 20 with developmental disabilities and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. The home and its staff provide 24-hour supervision, clinical services, and unconditional support in an environment that allows for individualized treatment and subsequent planning.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide direct care and supervision to adolescent males (ages 13-20) with developmental disabilities and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Support residents in daily living activities, including hygiene, meal preparation, and recreation. Implement individualized treatment plans and behavioral interventions. Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment within the group home. Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure consistent treatment approaches. Document observations, behaviors, and progress in accordance with program guidelines. Participate in team meetings and training to enhance skills and knowledge. Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and community members. Uphold agency policies, licensing regulations, and best practices for care.

Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma required Associate or bachelor's degree preferred Available to work flexible hours
High school Diploma Required
Driver's License Required
1 year or more of healthcare, child welfare, human service and/or social service experience
Weekend shifts CNA/PCA encouraged to apply
Medication certified required (NAFI CT will assist with obtaining certificate)
Salary/Hourly Rate:
30-hour 2nd Shift Behavior Tech Thursday-Saturday Hourly wage: $18.50 per hour to start Increased to $19.00 upon completion of Medication Administration Certification
