Job Title: Project Manager/Estimator
A leading underground utility contractor based in Southern California specializing in a variety of services including boring, underground utilities, paving, gas line
distribution, transmission installation and electrical conduit is seeking a Project Manager Estimator to join their team in San Diego. The PM/Estimator will be supporting multiple SDG&E infrastructure projects ranging from $1M-$2M. Job Duties: + Prepare cost estimates for projects in assigned categories. + Review RFx instructions and project plan documents. + Perform quantity takeoff for self-performed and subcontracted work. + Request subcontractor and material quotes. + Select vendors and enter relevant information into bid preparation software. + Review estimates with operations staff. + Prepare bid documents for submission to clients, including work plans, schedules, technical and business written deliverables, and pricing sheets. + Follow through on submissions. + Manage ongoing work awarded as a result of prepared estimates. + Handle project documentation (submittals, RFIs, notices) and ongoing client business deliverables (schedules, billing, notices). + Maintain official client communication. + Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: + Demonstrated understanding of technical methodology for preparing cost estimates for construction. + Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). + Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness. + Ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner. + Maintains confidentiality at all times. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Contributes to building a positive work environment. Education and/or Experience: + 4-year degree from an accredited college or university & 4 years work experience OR 8 years work experience in a directly related role in this or a similar industry. + Degree in Business Management, Project Management, or Construction Engineering. + Preferred experience with public utilities in Southern California, especially SDG&E, SCE, and/or SCG. + Preferred experience with Heavy Construction Software Suite HeavyBid and Safety. + Preferred experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6. + Preferred experience with Sage 300/Timberline &/or Sage Paperless. + Preferred experience with Agtek or Autodesk. Additional Information: + Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 per year. (Negotiable based upon experience + Work Sites: Various locations depending upon the project.
