Perform Bone Density Testing (DXA Scans) Administer DXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans to study participants as part of the research protocol. This includes ensuring proper positioning of the participant and accurate machine settings for the scan. Responsibilities: Set up and calibrate the DXA machine prior to scans. Position participants correctly for optimal scan results. Perform DXA scans following the study protocol to assess bone density. Ensure the radiology equipment is functioning properly, including routine checks for calibration, image quality, and system diagnostics. Record all relevant data and results associated with DXA scans in the study database. Provide technical support during the DXA procedure and assist in troubleshooting minor equipment issues. Maintain DXA Machine Compliance Ensure that the DXA machines used for scans are compliant with institutional, city, and state regulations through regular maintenance and renewal of necessary certifications. Responsibilities: Schedule and monitor routine maintenance of the DXA machine. Maintain documentation of machine certifications and compliance records. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Reviews patient specific procedure orders to determine materials/supplies that will be needed. Sets up/ stocks the procedure room/procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedure and cleans procedure room post procedure, including but not limited to cleaning of equipment/machinery. Conducts all necessary preparations of the patient procedure room and documents when appropriate. Explains procedure to the patient, answers questions and addresses patient concerns. Assists with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and prepping. Performs patient transfers and transports patient to and from procedure room. Inputs patient data into the C-Arm. Acts as scrub assistant assisting the physician during interventional procedures and administers fluoroscopy to enable the physician to see flow through the blood vessels to identify areas in need of intervention while maintaining a sterile technique according to the established company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Assists with inventory, ordering of supplies and re-stocking of supplies. Acts as Radiation Safety Officer; monitors radiation badges and conducts in-services regarding radiation safety.
