This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex defense litigation matters, focusing on toxic torts and chemical exposure cases. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals across various offices, gaining exposure to a broad array of legal, scientific, and medical issues. This role also includes the opportunity to work closely with clients and contribute to significant motion practice, trial preparation, and courtroom appearances.Duties:Conduct in-depth research on legal, medical, and scientific topics related to toxic tort defense.Partner with senior attorneys to formulate defense strategies.Take and defend depositions in complex cases.Manage discovery, including e-discovery, and ensure comprehensive case documentation.Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, memoranda, and client reports.Engage in significant motion practice and represent clients in various court hearings.Assist with trial and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) planning and preparation.Participate in client and team meetings via Zoom, MS Teams, or other video conferencing tools.Travel for depositions and court conferences as required.Requirements:3-5 years of experience in handling toxic tort cases, specifically involving chemical exposure.Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Familiarity with managing e-discovery and handling complex litigation.Strong experience in taking and defending depositions, drafting motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.Proficiency with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing tools for remote hearings and meetings.Ability to travel for in-person depositions and court appearances, including overnight stays when necessary.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Active New York Bar membership is required.Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, or New Jersey bars (or the ability to waive into NJ) is preferred.Skills:Excellent legal research and writing abilities.Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.Exceptional organizational and time-management capabilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to quickly absorb and apply new information.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Demonstrated professionalism and a cooperative attitude.Military experience is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
