Job Description Job Description We are on the hunt for a Senior Accountant to join our team based in New York, New York. The Senior Accountant will be tasked with managing accounting and financial systems, responding to client inquiries, and managing the bi-monthly payroll processes. This role is primarily involved in the Nonprofit Organizations industry and requires skills in Grant Accounting and Financial Statement Preparation. Responsibilities: • Oversee monthly accounting close procedures and take the lead in crafting monthly financial reports • Address client inquiries in an efficient and accurate manner • Control and oversee all aspects of our accounting and financial systems, ensuring full and correct accounting records are maintained • Oversee the bi-monthly payroll procedures, ensuring all employees are compensated correctly and coordinating with payroll provider to guarantee timely tax payments • Present financial reports at client Finance Committee and Board of Director meetings.• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role. • Demonstrable expertise in working with nonprofit organizations. • Proven experience in grant accounting and financial management. • Proficiency in preparing financial statements and reports. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations. • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail. • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. • CPA or similar certification would be considered an advantage.
