Job Description Job Description Growing, private equity-backed consumer goods company is immediately hiring a Senior Accountant located in Derby, CT. Hybrid schedule available after training period. The Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to serve as a trusted partner to the Controller, managing critical financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the financial processes as they continue to scale their e-commerce business. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and tax compliance processes. Manage and process invoices, ensuring accurate impacts on the balance sheet and proper accruals. Conduct bank reconciliations and manage payments, ensuring accurate and timely execution. Prepare journal entries, balance sheets, income statements, and handle month-end close activities. Collaborate with leadership to refine financial strategies and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
A minimum of two years of experience working in Staff Accountant role. A bachelor's degree in Accounting. Related majors will be considered if in combination with relevant Staff Accountant experience. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and a strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial statement preparation. Extensive experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax processes. Expertise in invoice processing, financial accruals, and month-end close procedures.
