Aligned Providers achieves meaningful alignment between hospitals, providers, staff, and patients through custom consultative, administrative, clinical, and operational services. Position Description The Paralegal will provide legal support to Aligned Providers' (AP) general counsel by conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and assisting with contract and case management. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare regulations, and legal procedures. Job Type: Exempt, full-time Location: Remote Reporting: This position will report to General Counsel, or designee.
Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth legal research using online legal databases and other resources on a wide range of healthcare law topics, including HIPAA, medical malpractice, and licensing and regulatory compliance Draft and review legal documents, such as contracts and employment agreements Organize and maintain case files, including gathering and organizing documents, scheduling deadlines, and tracking the progress of current pending legal requests Assist with e-discovery processes, including collecting, processing, and reviewing electronic documents Communicate with clients, including healthcare providers, insurance companies, and third-party clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries Monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and state/federal specific laws Assist in investigations into potential claims or compliance issues Prepare and file legal documents, including electronic filing Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience Experience:
10 years' related experience in a similar capacity Experience in healthcare law required Experience with legal research and writing
Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency in legal research databases and software Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations
