Location: Joliet/NW Indiana Job Type: Full-Time We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pest Control Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring pest-free environments for both residential and commercial properties, providing peace of mind to clients. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive interior and exterior inspections to identify pests. Perform routine checks and reapply roach bait as necessary in all units. Inspect walls for potential bed bug issues during routine visits. Provide expert advice on chemical and natural pest control solutions. Set traps for rodents and spray property perimeters for pests such as termites, ants, and cockroaches. Safely remove wasp and hornet nests. Strategically place bait pellets for rodent control. Seal entry points using foam, mesh, and wood to prevent infestations. Collaborate with Property Managers to resolve pest issues on-site. Maintain detailed inspection logs and promptly report concerns. Perform other tasks as directed by management.
Education & Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). 1–3 years of carpentry or maintenance experience, ideally in residential properties. Pest control licensure for Illinois and Indiana (required).
Licenses, Certifications & Tools:
Pest control licensure for Illinois and Indiana (required). Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and current auto insurance. Own basic tools, including a screwdriver, wrench, cordless drill, hammers, socket wrenches, and more.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Perform duties both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Engage in prolonged standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, and carrying. Frequently lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs. Must have the ability to distinguish colors for accurate pest identification. Travel within the region is required.
