About the Role As part of Finance/Accounting team, the Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end accruals, and vendor compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities Accounts Payable: · Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures. · Obtain necessary approvals and coding for invoice payments. · Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers. · Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to resolve invoice and payment inquiries. · Preparing company W-9’s as requested. · Identify monthly expense accruals. · Support Vendor Onboarding process. · Assist in preparing year end 1099’s. Accounts Receivable: · Generate and send customer invoices in a timely manner. · Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances. · Prepare and send periodic customer statements and reminders. · Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to customer accounts. Vendor Compliance: · Monitor vendor compliance with Lien Waivers and Certificate of Insurance. · Review vendor invoices and statements for accuracy and adherence to contractual terms. · Work with vendors to resolve any compliance issues or discrepancies. · Maintain vendor compliance records and documentation. Month End Activities: · Prepare/review journal entries and analyze/reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure the financial integrity of account balances. · Perform account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting. · Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for accruals.

Minimum Candidate Requirements Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking and thrive in the fast pace of a rapidly growing company. In addition, the candidate must possess: · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. · 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role. · Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to research accounting issues · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. · Attention to detail and accuracy in work. · Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. · Attention to detail and accuracy in work. · Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Proficiency in Excel including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc. · Ability to efficiently manipulate and analyze data in order to streamline accounting reports Additional Preferred Qualifications · CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus. · Collaborative and engaging team member who partners well with others · Strong team orientation and demonstrated time management skills · Results-driven, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence · Executive presence, outgoing with strong communication and presentation skills · Builds trust by demonstrating high ethical standards and personal integrity · Ability to adapt and learn quickly · Analytical problem solver who views obstacles as challenges · Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently when necessary Location: New York , NY At Aspen Power, our work model includes three ways of working: virtual, in-person, and hybrid (a hybrid of in-person and virtual).
Compensation range The salary range for this position is: $65k - $85k.
