Job Description Job Description Job Title: System Administrator Location: Brooklyn, NY Duration: 36 Months (Contract) Project: IT Development and Management About the Project: DSS develops and maintains critical applications for various programs, including client eligibility, employment services, and claims systems. To ensure the security and stability of these systems, DSS seeks experienced System Administrators. Key Responsibilities:
Network Security: Develop and maintain network integrity and security systems. Develop operational and installation procedures for security systems. Develop guidelines for upgrading security infrastructure. Maintain and monitor security infrastructure licensing.
Security Technology Evaluation: Develop test plans to evaluate new security technologies. Interface with vendors to accomplish test goals. Execute test plans and compile results for management decision-making.
Security Infrastructure Implementation & Operation: Configure and maintain security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS, etc.). Work with ITS staff to plan and advise on network and security requirements. Analyze network and security outages. Provide technical support to other staff.
Security Systems Specifications Management: Develop system and security design solutions. Develop specifications for security, communication systems, hardware, and software. Develop test plans and evaluation strategies for new security technologies. Develop and maintain system-wide documentation and configurations.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4 Years: Core competencies in routing, firewall, Intrusion Detection System (IDS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies. Experience with VoIP technologies and wireless systems in large environments. Experience with testing methods and analysis of results using automated or custom tools. Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network outages and slowdowns. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
