Location: Carpentersville, IL Our client provides exceptional service and support to our employees and management. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of our payroll processes. Responsibilities:
Process weekly (hourly) and biweekly (salaried) payrolls. Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reports, as well as ad hoc reports for management and audits. Review timecards for accuracy and educate new managers, group leaders, and office hourly on Time and Attendance. Prepare and process quarterly rate increases. Act as a liaison with ADP and electronically transmit positive pay data to the bank. Manage positive pay exceptions and track payroll deductions in arrears. Track and manage age reduction GTL and process Group Healthcare costs (W-2s). Manage SUI rates and set up state and local jurisdictions as required. Balance quarterly payroll taxes and calculate/process profit sharing and bonus payrolls. Track and report employee loans and administer employee garnishments. Manage LOA vacation proration and process payments for Cottage work. Electronically transmit 401(k) contributions/company match to plan administrator and provide reports for 401(k) audit. Manage salary and hourly vacation carryover, payroll, and holiday schedules in ADP. Maintain pay grades in ADP and import points on paychecks. Retrieve ADP invoices and prepare monthly anniversary lists for the OTTO Newsletter. Manage outstanding payroll checks and prepare annual rent increase authorizations. Provide annual budget information to accounting and assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of related experience. Minimum 5 years of full payroll life cycle experience, including at least 2 years with ADP Workforce Now. Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees. Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Solid working knowledge of benefits, policies, and procedures. High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to multitask and perform with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
Target base salary hiring range: $60,000 to $75,000, based on qualifications and experience. Profit Sharing Bonus: Distributed twice a year, based on company discretion. Vacation: 80 hours of vacation time earned on the anniversary date.
