Job Description Job Description Position: Network Engineer/RF Systems Reports to: Operations/Service Manager FLSA: Non-exempt

Salary grade level : Market value/Non-Exempt Position Function : Troubleshoot and help coordinate the installation and set-up of computer network systems. The ability to work in 911 dispatch centers and tower sites to coordinate and solve technical issues. The position may include hooking up special industry test equipment for RF (Radio Frequency) communications testing.
Primary duties:
E=Essential Functions
Establish and maintain network performance per customer specifications(E) Use a variety of test equipment for repairs and programming needs (E) The ability to build network configurations and connections to include troubleshooting problems (E) Determine material needs, and order materials for the maintenance or replacement of equipment or systems. (E) Define document and enforce system standards (E) Update data servers and all network equipment (E) Complete all required service paperwork and records and submit to appropriate personnel in a timely manner (E) Ability to work in a individual and team settings with RF Technicians and sales personnel (E) Respond to emergency repair needs (E) Attend industry trainings and education opportunities. (E) Ability to travel to different work locations (E)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Post high school network training and education to include a BA in computer science, information technology and/or related field. Experience may substitute for education. The ability to keep up industry training. This may include travel to schools and seminars Minimum 5 years of experience in Network administration
License and other requirements:
Possession of a valid Driver’s License Ability to pass background tests for entry into sensitive customer locations

Knowledge of :
Networking design, implementation, and troubleshooting Project management Problem solving and analytical skills LAN Knowledge Network Hardware Configuration Network Tuning
Additional requirements:
Travel to tower sites and assist or troubleshoot system equipment Read plans and interpret customer specifications Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Meet schedules and timelines Maintain daily records Follow Ka-Comm. Inc. rules, regulations policies and procedures
Working Conditions:
Environment Indoor and outdoor setting. Work around machinery with moving parts. Drive a company vehicle to conduct work. Physical requirements Strength and energy to maintain a daily work schedule up to 10 hours per day involving driving; physical lifting up to 50lbs with assistance; ability to communicate with customers and co-workers; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; kneeling; bending at the waist and reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally, to make repairs lifting heavy objects .
