Job Description Job Description Salary: $80,000-$100,000 The successful candidate for Construction Project Controls Engineer will have 2-5 years' experience in construction Project Controls and documentation, Federal or State construction experience preferred. Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or Business Management is required. Position is on-site in Salisbury, MD. Duties and Responsibilities include:
Support the Project Manager with oversite of the management and administration of project through all project phases from design, pre-construction to construction and close- out. Project Engineers will be stationed at project site assuring all necessary jurisdictional approvals are obtained and that all applicable codes and standards are met. Support the Project Manager with project support staff for final decisions on overall project cost controls, schedule management and quality inspection assurance efforts. Responsible for anticipating and resolving potential problems that may jeopardize project success. Assure that projects adhere to approved scope, are completed within budget, on schedule and at the prescribed level of quality. Assures compliance with sustainability and construction technology. Support the Project Manager in developing relationships with key project stakeholders; other technical and administrative units, jurisdictional approval agencies, and influential university community members to support project management activities and facilitate timely resolution of project challenges. Support the Project Manager in the preparation of the documents required by Procurement for soliciting design, construction and capital equipment services. Maintain project records and produces various reports. Maintain critical project information in an automated project management system (E-builder) on a continuous basis.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent is required. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience, managing A/E (design) consultant services and construction administration. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (SKAs): Must possess thorough knowledge of construction management practices with ability to work within a project team environment with minimum supervision. Ability to coordinate work with customer departments, campus administration, designers, other project managers, government agencies, and other service and support agencies. Ability to manage project finances, make and review estimates, negotiate contract change orders with A/E firms and contractors, and to develop and manage value-engineering efforts. Ability to review construction drawings and specifications for constructability. Knowledge of national, state and local codes and regulations applicable to the design and construction of facilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the use of a computer for email, reports, automated project management systems and MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
