Position Summary:The Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and managing the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit within a small nursing home. This role ensures that high-quality care is provided to residents while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care Management: Monitor and manage the delivery of care to residents, including assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and ensuring proper implementation. Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between residents, families, and healthcare providers, addressing concerns and providing updates as needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care, including progress notes, medication administration, and any changes in patient conditions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures, including infection control and safety standards. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency services as necessary. Training & Development: Assist in the training and development of new nursing staff and provide ongoing education and support to existing staff. Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse License in Kansas.Experience in Long Term Care preferredStrong leadership and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, or assist patients as needed.Capability to stand or walk for extended periods.
