Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT), named one “Of Zweig Group’s “Best Firms to Work For.” is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners, and other related design professionals that is actively seeking to fill a full-time position in our Columbus or Cincinnati, OH office. The selected candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, the ability to work as a team member or independently, the capacity to learn new skills and areas of expertise, and the desire to assist in establishing and growing our aviation business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Planning, design, and construction of civil & transportation projects focused on Aviation development Perform and lead design tasks or projects including the supervising and directing of junior staff Typical projects require preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications) including horizontal and vertical layout, site development, grading, drainage, pavement design, marking, signage, erosion control, coordination with other disciplines, water & sanitary utilities, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction scheduling Support the client manager in providing service to and developing relationships with existing aviation clients Perform project management and coordination of multi-disciplined tasks necessary to implement projects for clients in our aviation group Perform, assist, or oversee construction-related tasks including on-site construction observation and project engineering Assist in business development activities including prospective client outreach, submittal preparation, and community engagement
Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. A Master’s degree in advanced studies will be recognized in the evaluation process Minimum five (5) years of civil engineering experience with demonstrated technical design & construction expertise in transportation, civil site development, and civil infrastructure projects, including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specifications. Aviation experience is preferred but not required. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills will be preferred Must have Professional Engineering License Licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio is preferred Previous business development experience preferred Staff development, supervision, and/or management experience preferred Demonstrated skills and a working knowledge of AutoCAD for use in civil & site design projects Skill using Civil 3D for site modeling, design, and analysis is preferred Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important Must be willing to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignments to meet project demands Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
