About the Role:
The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving new business sales and customer revenue growth through detailed discovery and providing APC’s delivery and technology solutions within the Chicago metropolitan area and the surrounding Midwest region. This role will engage directly with prospective customers to increase revenue and market share, focusing on high-volume prospecting, presenting, closing, and nurturing customer relationships.
About the Candidate:
You are a motivated sales professional with a strong track record in B2C and D2C logistics, focusing on solution selling, building customer relationships, and driving revenue growth. With a deep understanding of international delivery, technology, and e-commerce solutions, you connect with clients to deliver solutions that align with their needs and business goals. As a proactive self-starter, you are highly organized and skilled in territory management, prospecting, discovery, presenting, closing sales, and maintaining relationships. Comfortable with traveling for onsite customer visits, you excel at identifying new business opportunities to maximize growth and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Identify new clients in the assigned territory through business lead generation/cultivation, prospecting, cold calling, and networking. Conduct solution-focused presentations to key decision-makers to secure new business Build and maintain strong relationships with established accounts through regular in-person visits and proactive service Identify and implement timely solutions to service challenges, ensuring high client satisfaction Develop systems to promote client retention and foster long-term partnerships Leverage company tools, processes, and technologies to manage and expand the territory, document activities, and establish metrics for driving new business growth Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and IT teams to drive sales and optimize revenue growth within the territory Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 3+ years of consecutive experience in outside sales Proven background in service-based sales with expertise in: B2C and/or D2C environments Logistics and Delivery industry E-Commerce technology and marketplaces Strong skills in territory management, lead generation, negotiation, and client relationship management Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with a CRM system is required, with a strong preference for Salesforce Bachelor’s degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5-10 pounds from a floor position to an over the head position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, verbally communicate, and perform intricate finger dexterity to type or manipulate electronic documents while speaking or listening.
