SUMMARY The primary objective of a shipping supervisor is to ensure every shipment arrives on time and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors and oversees outgoing and incoming shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition. Ensures weights are correctly posted, correct charges are applied, shipments are moved from shipping points to storage areas, and issues with shipping orders are resolved. Reads all shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure the correct shipping methods are used. Ensures shipping records are accurately stored in the database. Responsible for inspecting every aspect of the loading operations to ensure they follow warehouse and shipping specifications and properly use warehouse space. Conducts regular inventory reconciliation to ensure adequate supplies to meet the company's production goals. Report to management on damaged goods and any discrepancies with an inventory. Responsible for enforcing safety regulations. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS
Multitasking?– must prioritize and execute tasks accurately in this fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills. Technical shipping knowledge?- technical knowledge of the machines and equipment used in shipping and a technical understanding of logistics procedures. Forecasting Third-Party Logistics Accuracy Inventory Management Strategic Planning Process Improvement WMS Inventory Control Purchasing Leadership?skills. Microsoft Office and intermediate knowledge of Excel. Relevant warehouse experience Positive, can-do attitude Works well in a team environment Strong work ethic
Safely and efficiently move merchandise weighing up to 60lbs., stand/walk. Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
EDUCATION
Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain management. At least two years of experience in a warehouse supervisory role.
