Job Description Job Description Job Summary Chemical dependency counselor assistants are healthcare professionals who work under the supervision of licensed chemical dependency counselors to help individuals who are struggling with addiction. They provide a range of supportive services to clients and help to facilitate their recovery. General Accountabilities
Client assessment: Gathering information on a client's substance abuse history, mental health, and other relevant factors
Treatment planning: Developing treatment plans and goals for clients, and reviewing them with the client and their family
Counseling: Providing individual and family counseling sessions to help clients identify problems that may interfere with recovery
Case management: Providing case management services, including referrals to housing, employment, and other community resources
Record keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records
Outreach: Conducting outreach programs to help people identify signs of addiction and destructive behavior
Discharge planning: Preparing clients for transition out of counseling
Group facilitation: Facilitating therapeutic groups for alcohol and other drug treatment
Documentation: Maintaining documentation of services provided and client progress
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree 3-5 years experience in the field 1-hour mandatory OCDP CDCA Ethics training (free of charge through OCDP at link below) High school diploma or GED Company Description MKS RECOVERY is a non-profit organization 'In The Business Of Saving Lives.'
