Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our partner school's team. The SLP will play a vital role in administering therapy to children for remediation and improvement of communicative disorders in the areas of articulation, language, fluency, and voice. This position requires a dedicated professional who is committed to improving communication abilities and enhancing the quality of life for students.
Essential Job Functions
Screen, diagnose, assess, and identify children with all types of communicative disorders in accordance with procedures outlined in Title 5 and the Master Plan for Special Education. Consult with teachers regarding speech problems and assist teachers in screening referrals for speech help. Determine goals and objectives based on diagnostic information for each child to meet individual communication needs. Develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each child enrolled in the speech program in cooperation with parents and administrator. Determine personal goals and objectives for the therapy program. Prepare a therapy schedule. Administer therapy to all children enrolled in caseload based on individual learner objectives as outlined in the IEP. Maintain records and reports on each child enrolled in therapy regarding diagnostic information, goals and objectives, pupil progress, and pertinent conference information from parents and other professionals. Provide information for and conduct conferences with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals regarding student needs. Consults with teachers who have hard-of-hearing pupils in their classrooms regarding educational and personal problems of hearing-handicapped pupils. Provides information and counseling for pupils, parents, and teachers regarding hearing problems and the selection, car,e and use of hearing aids.
Qualifications
Must possess Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential Prefer Certification of Clinical Competencies (CCCs) Valid California Driver’s License Bilingual, Spanish/English desirable.
