ASE is looking to fill a position on its production team with a quality-minded individual who takes pride in his or her attention to detail. Using technical drawings, the candidate will work with the production team to build automation control systems that exceed industry standards for quality and reliability. The individual will also demonstrate his or her willingness to adhere to the safety requirements mandated by OSHA and the company safety policy. Job Requirements: Fulltime 40HR+ work week position. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required. Regular attendance and punctuality to the assigned schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to): Follow instructions from Fabrication Lead to assemble control panels, field devices, panelboards, switchboards, and other electrical equipment as required. Use hand tools to wire simple and complex circuits from technical drawings. Use powered tools and equipment, including power drills, impact drills, jigsaws, and angle grinders. Program, load, and supervise the operation of various CNC machinery, including: a fiber laser, a press brake, an enclosure modification center, and a rotary engraver. Utilize 3D models and design drawings to assemble custom-built switchboard sections and panelboards. Use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters and dielectric voltage testers to test panel components. Material handling and staging of project material. Shipping and receiving duties. Ability to perform tasks wearing the required PPE. Ability to follow company code of conduct and safety policies. Maintain a clean work area including general shop cleaning and housekeeping duties. Possible travel required for field panel work during peak season. Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma or educational equivalent. Previous electrical knowledge or technical schooling is preferred. Knowledge of CNC operation, 3D modeling, and/or basic drafting is advantageous but not required. Pass background, drug screen and E-verify checks. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Organized and very detail oriented. Strong work ethic. Self-starter Eager to learn and take on new tasks. Working Conditions: Jobs are mostly indoors but can require minimal outdoor work as well. Ability to stand and work for up to twelve (12) hours in a workday. Work around and near high/low voltage circuits. Electrical work can expose employee to risks such as electrical shock. Will occasionally be exposed to chemicals: dust, heat, cold, gas, and/or fumes. Must be able to adjust physically to varying warehouse environmental conditions throughout the year (above moderate heat and cold).
Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to stand for most if not all of the work day. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. in a warehouse work environment. Ability to work in a loud shop environment. Ability to work in awkward positions, such as bending over frequently, working overhead, working in tight spaces or on ladders. Ability to work in a fast paced environment Use of vibrating and jarring hand tools, power tools, and other equipment on a regular basis. Ability to handle deadline driven and sometimes stressful work environments.
