Classification: Exempt Reports To: Health Information Manager Location: Worthington Campus, Central Region (can work remotely) Summary The SQL Developer is a member of the Management Team and the Health Information and Analytics Team within the Performance Improvement and Service Delivery department. Working under the Health Information Manager's supervision, s/he is responsible for developing applications that interface with SQL databases and use APIs to transfer data between business applications, data warehouses, and data analytic tools. This is a salaried position with hours and schedule established to complete the required duties. This is an "administrative" position, as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor and, as such, is "exempt" from wage and hour regulations Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Develop high-quality data solutions using SQL and APIs to facilitate data transfer between business applications, data warehouses, and data analytics. Create custom reports. Develops, implements, and optimizes stored procedures and functions. Analyzes existing SQL queries for performance improvements. Suggests new queries where appropriate. Develops procedures and scripts for data migration. Troubleshoots problems with SQL, database design, APIs, interactions. Researches solutions and industry best practices in database management and data access. Reviews and interprets ongoing business requirements for data access, usage, and reports. Provides technical and business leadership, mentoring, and training. Interprets business requirements (written or oral) into technical specifications and interprets technical issues into business terms. Acts independently under general supervision. Self-monitors assignments to report status to project teams and management. Additional Duties and Expectations Develops presentations to present to a broad audience. Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment. Supports business decisions through the development and use of analytics. Prioritizes work based on the needs of the business and in accordance with and alignment with company strategy. DocuSign Envelope ID: 7459C350-4A3A-4567-A1DD-CD2258B56058 Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and experience required 2-4 years' relevant professional work experience required; Must have in-depth knowledge of SQL and relational database design and management; Good knowledge of HTML and JavaScript; Experience using APIs to facilitate data transfer across applications; Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to communicate to all levels of the organization, including interpreting technical concerns for non-technical individuals; Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities; Should be willing to develop an understanding of IAB business in behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities; Good time and task management skills; Experience with newer non-relational database technologies preferred; Experience with data analytics and business intelligence applications preferred; Experience with the healthcare industry, especially clinical, behavioral health, and intellectual and developmental disabilities; Physical Requirements Physical demands described represent those that must be routinely met by an employee to perform the essential duties of this position successfully. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, but regular out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
