Our office is located in Lake Success, Nassau County, New York. We are seeking a full-time paralegal/legal assistant for our trusts & estates department. Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience in drafting wills, health care proxies, powers of attorney, trusts and related transfer documents;
Minimum 3 years experience with administering estates and trusts, trust funding, MHL Art. 81 Guardianships and SCPA Art. 17 Guardianships;
Experience calendaring court dates/deadlines and e-filings;
The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with the following skills:
Strong computer/technology skills and the ability to learn new applications:
Strong written and oral communication skills;
Be extremely attentive to detail;
Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills;
Be a team player.
Responsibilities:
Complete administrative duties such as making copies, answering phone calls, mailings, coordinate appointments;
Draft wills, health care proxies, powers of attorney, trusts and related transfer documents;
Draft applications for probate and administration forms;
Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence;
Correspond with counsel, court and clients.
