We currently have an opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our Northern IL Construction Team . The selected candidate will provide construction phase engineering services to the IL Tollway, IDOT, county and municipal clients. Primary Responsibilities
Provides observation and inspection of critical elements during road, bridge, and utility construction. Interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts. Maintains project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, project files, RFIs and submittals. Assists with material testing procedures. Assists with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications. Works collaboratively with all project stakeholders (client, contractor, sub-consultants) and interacts with the public and officials to respond to inquiries and resolve problems.
Position Requirements
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required; EIT is desired. Previous experience performing inspection and documentation for civil infrastructure projects for local, county or state agencies. Familiarity with IL Tollway materials and documentation procedures and/or IDOT documentation procedures is desired. Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel and Word) is required. Experience with e-Builder, Primavera, CMMS, Fieldsys, MISTIC, and I-MIRS is desired. Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and GPS equipment is desired. Ability to maintain detailed daily logs and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Must be able to work as part of a team and follow through on tasks to completion with limited oversight. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to local project sites and work extended hours as needed.
