Summary/Objective The Budget and Reporting Senior Accountant is a key member of our growing finance and operations team. This position, under the supervision of the Director of Finance, is expected to support the Finance department in the monthly close process, and include items such as, but not limited to: financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, journal entry preparation and posting, account reconciliations. Department support will also consist of annual budgeting preparation, grant tracking, and various analysis reporting. Other annual, monthly, and weekly responsibilities are identified below.
Essential Functions - Work closely with other departments to gather financial data and provide support - Annual budget preparation and monitoring - Prepare budget forecasts, financial projections and proformas for new business case models - Conduct financial analysis ensuring accurate reporting and provide insights to senior management. - Track and manage all financials aspects of grants to ensure compliance includes preparing monthly journal entries for month end close. - Prepare Medicaid cost reports for audit submission in compliance with state regulations. - Communicate financial information clearly to non-financials stakeholders - Provide assistance to the accounting team during month end close - Monthly financial statement preparation for finance committee, board and outside stakeholders - Ad-hoc financial reporting as requested - Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures including strict deadlines, and instructions. - Adheres to company policies and procedures in addition to regulations, laws and other requirements from applicable governing bodies, certification, licensure and/or accreditation entities, etc. - This job operates in a professional, remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Education, Skills, Experience and Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration; Accountancy, Finance or closely related field.
- Five to seven years of accounting, financial reporting and financial systems work experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. - Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems integration. - Experience in journal entries, general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. - Knowledge of accounting software. - Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, if applicable.

Work Hours: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Requirements: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected on occasion.
