Job Description Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Have or have the ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver License with air brake endorsement. Pass an ICC Physical and be medically qualified to operate a Commercial Vehicle. Do light maintenance on ready mix truck. Have a good driving record that satisfies the requirements of the company motor vehicle license policy. Learn the computer batching system at Wells Concrete. Keep and deliver the records of batching to Quality Control.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED. Have a current Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement, and DOT Health Card. Pass a DOT Drug Test and be subject to Random Selection testing as per the DOT regulations. Be able to learn and operate a computerized batching system. Learn the skills needed for efficient and safe operation of the ready-mix truck. Keep the ready-mix truck clean (periodically washing the truck with mild acid/detergent) and in good mechanical shape (including cleaning and maintenance inside the mixing drum). Be mechanically inclined and be able to do light service work on ready mix truck.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs., occasionally. Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently. Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day. Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently. Possession of valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements. Moderate to high risk of safety precautions. Moderate to high exposure to production environment. Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific) Ability to work outside year-round (plant specific)
***Starting wage is $30.64/hr. Benefits eligible after completing 330 hours and going through a waiting month. Overtime after 8 hours. Current wage is after benefits are deducted. ***
