POSITION SUMMARY
This individual will provide analytical expertise primarily for commercial loan requests in report and written memo form. He/She will implement the underwriting procedures and process relative to commercial lending. This individual will also implement the commercial lending loan review process and procedures. Additional tasks may be assigned when necessary relative to the commercial lending portfolio and any other analytical task associated with the lending function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts investigations, analyzes financial date, and prepares written credit analyses to assist the loan officer in credit extension decisions.
Utilizes credit-reporting services to compile reports relating to the credit history of potential customers. Researches and analyzes financial statements. Interprets and prepares analyses on financial performance and credit worthiness of existing and potential customers. Performs spreads of corporate financial statements. Insures proper grading of credits and relationships.
Performs personal cash flow analysis based off of individual’s tax returns. Accompanies Loan Officers, when requested, on sales calls on clients/prospects. Assists Loan Officers in credit presentations to Loan Committee, when requested. Undertakes special projects related to job function, as determined by the Head of Credit Policy. Participates in community related activities. Monitors the financial position of established accounts and brings any irregularities to the attention of the Loan Officer, EVP/Loans, and/or Head of Credit Policy. Monitors loan structure and performance to ensure compliance with policy.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
As prescribed by position. The senior credit analyst will have the responsibility to manage and train any junior analyst(s). EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
College degree with major in finance is highly encouraged. Three years of credit analyst experience in banking preferred. Requires knowledge and understanding of financial statements. Requires knowledge in making industry evaluations. Must be able to use a personal computer with Windows, Microsoft Word & Excel, and various other software applications. Knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, UCC and lien perfection is helpful. Previous credit analyst experience is preferred. Self-starter and self motivator.
OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess basic language skills to write and speak clearly, effectively, and appropriate to business standards. Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations necessary to execute the duties of the job. Must be able to make sound decisions, have the ability to recognize potential problems, and take the appropriate corrective action.
Must be well organized, accurate, and attentive to details.
Must be cooperative and willing to assist others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The most frequent setting for working environment is inside the office with CRT monitor. However, the analyst will also need to spend time out of the office on field calls with the Lender to ascertain the customer’s plan of business and evaluate their facility. This could include visits to various businesses and involve outdoor activities. Must be committed to CBT’s mission and goals. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS The analyst should be familiar with FASB accounting principals as they relate to underwriting guidelines. They should also have a working knowledge of income taxes that apply to various corporate and individual entities. Specifically, how these laws affect the balance sheet and income statement of companies and individuals. Each associate must also understand and comply with CBT’s programs, policies, and procedures. If they are a supervisor, the must be certain that their staff understands the responsibility to comply with all applicable regulatory issues and internal programs, policies and procedures.
