We seek a highly skilled and motivated Controller to join our leadership team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, improving operational processes, collaborating across departments, and driving accountability across the organization. Requirements: Key Responsibilities: Financial Oversight Manage payables and receivables, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls. Oversee vendor and contractor relations, including onboarding, compliance verification, and payment processes. Collaborate with the tax team to ensure timely filings, compliance with tax regulations, and strategic financial planning. Generate and present monthly financial reports, including variance analysis, CAPEX project tracking, and cash flow forecasts. Operational Improvements Develop and implement structured workflows for expense approvals, reimbursement tracking, and vendor invoicing. Partner with property management and operations teams to improve property performance, reduce inefficiencies, and optimize operating expenses. Coordinate with maintenance and leasing teams to resolve vendor-related issues and operational bottlenecks promptly. Conduct quarterly audits to identify inefficiencies and implement targeted solutions for cost savings and process improvements Proficiency in document management systems Knowledge of construction industry standards and document control procedures Performance Enhancement Utilize financial and operational data to identify trends, forecast performance, and recommend actionable strategies. Work closely with the property management team to enhance portfolio performance and align operational goals with financial objectives. Leadership and Collaboration Act as a bridge between financial operations and property management to ensure cohesive strategies and decision-making. Mentor and guide team members to foster a culture of accountability, growth, and operational excellence. Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including tenants, vendors, and team members, to maintain high standards of service and collaboration. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in real estate, construction, property management, or a related industry. Experience with Sage 300CRE preferred Skills and Competencies Strong proficiency with financial software ( QuickBooks, Google Suite). Understanding of project management and familiarity with construction project phases and documentation types (preferred) Exceptional analytical and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage vendor relations and negotiate contracts. Experience in implementing financial systems and workflows. Familiarity with CAPEX projects, variance reporting, and budget tracking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Knowledge of tax compliance and regulations applicable to real estate and property management industries. Ability to handle high-pressure environments and tight deadlines with professionalism.
