Job Description Job Description Salary: $70K - $120K DOE JOB TITLE Commercial Loan Officer REPORTS TO: CCO DEPARTMENT: Lending
General Responsibilities: Position requires development of new/existing banking relationships as well as assisting the CCO in the management of the commercial loan portfolio including real estate, real estate construction, and personal loans. Assist in the development of staff. Assist with retail loans, including real estate, and real estate construction, and personal loans. Represent the Bank in various community activities and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business, finance, agricultural business or equivalent education/work experience. A minimum of seven to ten years previous lending experience to include analyzing credit requests, collateral analysis, obtaining and monitoring government guarantees, proper structuring and pricing of commercial loans and collections. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access or related software. Solid understanding/knowledge of SBA and MBOI lending programs. Proven aggressive history of solid business development and strong sales abilities. Strong desire to increase Valley Bank of Kalispell's market-share by developing networks and contacts, community involvement and participation and diligent work ethic. Demonstrated ability to provide information in concise verbal and written formats. Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Commercial Loan Functions:
Ability to analyze credit requests and make sound credit decisions in a timely manner. Ability to properly structure and price loan relationships. Process commercial and commercial real estate loan requests. Prepare, present and recommend loan requests to Loan Committee. Detailed knowledge of commercial, consumer, residential (secondary market), student loan and credit card. Adhere to Bank policies & procedures. Identify problem or potential problems and establish workout plans. Management of acquired (commercial) real estate property. Collection of past due accounts; etc. Keep informed of SBA, FMHA, and MBOI loan programs.
Commercial Real Estate Function:
Back-up responsibility for residential construction loans. Oversee loan closings as required. Maintain knowledge of risk ratings and overall loan portfolio performance. Monitor Commercial and Consumer Departments for compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. Assist with analysis to determine Banks adequacy of Loan Loss Reserve.
Business Development/Public Relations:
Service requests and call on present customers to maintain existing business and generate profitable new business (borrower & depositor relationships). Identification and solicitation of prospective customers to generate new business including borrowing and depositor relationships. Thorough understanding of all deposit, non-deposit and loan products with the ability to sell. Maintain knowledge of competitors products and prices and governmental agency programs and prices. Develop and maintain an effective calling program. Participation in community events and organizations leverage participation to generate new business for the Bank.

Federal Regulations
Maintain a working knowledge of written policies and procedures that apply to and concern this positions area of responsibility, including general regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, and Regulation E, Bank Security and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
