CNC Manager
Job Description
The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Manager will oversee manufacturing operations for our client in Reading, PA. The CNC Manager, a key member of the leadership team, will be responsible for leading a team of CNC operators, machinists, and programmers, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing processes to meet production goals. Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the activities of CNC operations to ensure efficient and timely production. Set daily production goals and schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards. Train, mentor, coach, and evaluate CNC existing and new team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance. CNC Technical Expert. Establish and maintain a cross-training and career advancement program, in concert with Human Resources, to provide and support successful career progression for CNC employees. Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and tools required for production. Collaborate with the production manager and engineering manager, to develop and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly. Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment. Prepare reports on production output, efficiency, and any relevant metrics for management review.
Requirements:
A degree or experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is required. Certifications in NIMS level I or II, MCP, ASME, and/or CERP are preferred. Must have proven experience (five to 7 years preferred), in a CNC Supervisor, Engineering, or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Technical expert in CNC programming. Advanced knowledge of CNC operations, programming, and machining processes. Must be proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Mut have strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively. Must be able to effectively communicate, orally and in writing with employees, vendors, and leadership. Must have excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must have knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Contract manufacturing experience in a high-volume environment with a CNC focus. CAD and CAM experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Has experience programming 4 & 5 axis milling equipment. A background in aerospace or structural steel manufacturing.

Manual Dexterity : Precision and dexterity in handling small tools, adjusting machinery, and performing maintenance tasks on a regular basis.
Standing for Extended Periods : Working on the manufacturing floor typically involves prolonged periods of standing or walking.
Vision and Hearing : Good vision is essential for inspecting small details, reading technical diagrams, and ensuring quality control.
Physical Endurance : Must be able to remain alert and focused throughout the entire shift.
Safety Awareness : Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Communication Skills : Must have the ability to effectively communicate with team members, engineers, and management is crucial for a CNC supervisor to convey instructions, report issues, and collaborate effectively.
