LOCATION: On-site in Williamstown, MA
COMPENSATION: $1000/week
HIRING TIMELINE: Applications to be accepted until the position is filled with a priority application deadline of February 17. Application review and interviews to be conducted starting March 17, with an anticipated start date of June 20 and end date of August 11. Williamstown Theatre Festival is seeking a talented and versatile Digital Media Designer to join our summer marketing and communications team. This hybrid role is perfect for a designer with a keen eye for aesthetics, a knack for storytelling through visuals, and the technical skills to bring ideas to life through motion and video. In this position, you'll work on a variety of projects-from static visuals to motion graphics in tools like Adobe After Effects-and contribute to video production efforts, both behind the screen and behind the camera (whether that is the Canon t5i we have in house, or an iPhone for social media content). Primary Responsibilities and Expectations
The Digital Media designer reports directly to the year-round Marketing & Communications Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Video Production & Content Creation
Create engaging video content for digital platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, emails, and other advertising platforms.
Manage the content-capture schedule in collaboration with the team.
Maintain the archive of digital media content diligently, in collaboration with the team.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistency and innovation across all our marketing assets and platforms.
Graphic Design
Assist in the creation of marketing materials such as posters, print ads, e-blasts, event invitations, postcards, web/video graphics based on existing templates, and in some cases updating the templates as needed.
Archive all season design content diligently, in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
Administrative
Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to understand project objectives and deliverables, and timelines.
Assisting in organizing and maintaining our files including saving final versions of assets, photo/video archives, press, social media posts etc. on Google Drive, Figma, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills & Expertise
Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design Expertise in Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects (Premiere Pro experience is a plus). Experience as a videographer, preferably in a theater or live performance setting. Experience with videography equipment and software. Strong video editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects) or Final Cut Pro. Proficiency in Google Suite. Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok) is a plus.
Creative & Storytelling Skills
A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, proficiency in visual storytelling through video, and a range of design skills and styles. Applicants should be prepared to share past work as part of the application process.
Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with artists, production teams, and marketing professionals. Strong interpersonal skills to foster productive working relationships.
Work Ethic & Organization
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while also being capable of working independently. Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects efficiently.

Working and Living in Williamstown
Williamstown Theatre Festival's season takes place on the beautiful campus of Williams College in Williamstown, MA with backdrops of the Berkshire, Green, and Taconic mountain ranges. Williamstown, MA (estimated pop. 7,813) is located in Berkshire County (estimated pop. 128,657) in Western Massachusetts and is an hour's drive from Albany, NY and 30 minutes from Pittsfield, MA.
The Williams College campus and the 62' Center for Theatre and Dance are within walking distance of Spring Street, which has several restaurants with dine-in and takeout options, a coffee shop, an ice cream shop, an independent movie theater, and several stores. The nearest grocery store is a 10-minute drive from campus and not within walking distance. Having a personal vehicle does provide more flexibility in grocery-shopping and expands dining and activities options. For those who bring vehicles, parking is free at designated locations on Williams campus with a parking pass. All seasonal staff are provided housing free of charge on campus at Williams College. Housing is dorm-style with private bedrooms and shared common areas, including bathroom and kitchen. Williams College housing is not air-conditioned. Weather ranges from evenings on the cooler side but can also be quite warm with temperatures in the 90s with high humidity.
