Saga Education | Change the Equation What You'll Do The Accounting Coordinator plays a key role in keeping our financial operations organized and running smoothly. You'll manage accounts payable, process expense reports, track vendor contracts, and assist with monthly accounting tasks. As the go-to person for payments and expense-related questions, you'll collaborate with vendors, employees, and the finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This is an ideal role for someone who loves numbers, enjoys staying organized, and thrives in a mission-driven environment. You'll be part of a supportive team, helping to ensure our resources are used effectively to advance our mission of changing the equation in education. Your responsibilities will include: Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor payments and staff reimbursements using BILL Request and manage vendor W-9s and send BILL account invitations Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments or discrepancies Help prepare AP reports Assist with 1099 preparation and fix tax ID (TIN) errors by contacting vendors Expense and Credit Card Management: Process company credit card expense reports and staff reimbursement requests Download and review monthly credit card statements Handle credit requests and reconciliations Follow up with employees for missing receipts, clarifications, or approvals Vendor and Contract Management: Save and organize vendor contracts, ensuring the contract tracking spreadsheet is current Month-End and Accounting Support: Help with monthly closing tasks like preparing reports and reconciliations Keep accounting files and documentation organized Support audits by providing schedules and responding to auditor requests Assist the finance team with reports, special projects, and analysis Staff Communication and Support: Share updates on Concur and BILL processes with staff Troubleshoot and resolve staff questions about financial systems What We'll Use To Measure Success Mission Alignment - You acknowledge and can articulate an understanding of education inequity Nimble Learning - You use both successes and failures to actively learn new lessons Action Oriented - You take on new opportunities and have a solutions-oriented approach Collaborates - You build partnerships and work collaboratively to meet shared objectives Communicates Effectively - You deliver clear, multi-mode communication to various audiences What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2 years of experience in accounting or accounts payable, preferably in a nonprofit or education setting Familiarity with accounting tools (e.g., BILL, Concur) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Clear communication skills and a helpful attitude Experience with 1099 preparation is a plus What We'll Provide Saga Education offers competitive compensation and benefits, including health insurance, IVF coverage, paid parental leave, an optional FSA, and telehealth benefits.
