Job Description
Darigold seeks a motivated Quality Assurance Supervisor to join its Sunnyside team. The Quality Assurance Supervisor's role is to administer corporate policies and procedures related to quality and food safety, supervising the lab technician team in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager through performance, monitoring, and development of quality systems and processes. What You Will Do
SQF Practitioner and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Ensure compliance with all FDA, WSDA, & USDA regulations, rules, and laws. Perform record review and monitor compliance to specifications, methods, procedures, GMP, HACCP, and food safety programs. Verify full implementation of HACCP, FSMA, and cGMP requirements and programs. Identify gaps and provide solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements or needs of the facility. Lead and maintain quality control and verification systems, including procedures, processes, and sampling tests, to ensure that all products manufactured meet food safety and quality requirements. Perform and monitor food safety and quality management systems through data analysis, process review, and verification activities. Ability to design, develop, & maintain digital data platform for all FSQA operations and process controls. Perform data analysis focused on proactive reporting vs reactive for food safety and quality. Maintain defined quality key performance metrics focused on continuous improvement methodology. Coach and mentor employees on food safety and quality processes. Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with WSDA, USDA, and FDA requirements. Conduct routine plant inspections to verify compliance with regulatory requirements from milk receipt to shipping of finished products. Support, develop, & administer quality programs and procedures for Quality Improvement. Lead food safety & quality investigations for non-conformances. Lead food safety and quality audits of assigned area. Member of plant food safety, crisis management, and food defense team. Assist in the development and execution of quality training programs to ensure proper training of all personnel. Effectively manage all assigned projects focused on continuous improvement and building a strong food safety culture within the facility.
What You Will Bring
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to facilitate the implementation of corporate quality systems positively and proactively. Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others, as well as the ability to operate independently as required. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Must be goal-oriented and result-driven. Must have strong technical and organizational skills.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Preferred to have 1+ years of experience in Dairy or Food Quality assurance, with preference given to those with a B.S. Degree in Food/Dairy Science/Microbiology or an associated discipline. Experience in a laboratory setting with technical applications. HACCP, PQCI, BRC, and/or SQF certifications preferred.
