Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Dean are to oversee and coordinate the School's: (a) non-transfer student Orientation and Advising programs, including HSS Orientation and the HSS 099 class, and serving as a faculty resource on advising issues; (b) Peer Mentor Leadership Development program; (c) course scheduling and registration; (d) curricular issues; (e) Departments' academic bulletins and transfer equivalencies; (f) student support services; and (g) in support of the HSS Advising Coordinator, the School’s student recruitment efforts. The Assistant Dean will work closely with the Dean to research, identify, and pursue enhancements and opportunities for the School of HSS and its students, faculty, and staff. Main Responsibilities Coordinate and lead class scheduling and student registration for the School. Coordinate and lead all School-based student support services and programs. Serve as the Dean’s representative on the Curriculum Committee. Act as liaison with other schools and College offices. Coordinate the non-transfer student HSS 099 curriculum and programming. Supervise the Peer Mentor Student Leadership Program. Work with the Advising Coordinator and Dean to facilitate academic events and meetings.
