Responsibilities:
Supervises all vehicle operators to ensure proper scheduling of runs and efficient staffing of every route. Provides leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communication, appraisal, training, and coaching. Performs all vehicle operator safety evaluation ride checks, investigates and responds to situations, helps resolve operational issues and assists with transit passengers as necessary. Perform all tasks in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies including OHSA and DOT. Develop and deliver training to employees on OSHA, DOT, and company policies and procedures. Conduct monthly in-service safety meetings. Ensure all documentation, records and files related to safety training are submitted and maintained in accordance with federal, state and local requirements and Company policy. Assist in the new driver qualification process and the continued qualification of drivers to include drug/alcohol testing, annual reviews, physicals and all other required documentation. Respond and provide assistance in emergency situations. Provide leadership and a positive work atmosphere exhibiting professional conduct with open communication that promotes positive relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. Prepare and present reports as necessary. Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent and legally eligible to work in the United States. 2 or more years of relevant leadership experience. Excellent communication skills with ability to read maps, interpret transit operating rules and policies. Ability to pass a DOT physical examination, including a background and a drug test. Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, and be available to address safety issues by phone at all times.
