Office of Human Resources, Diversity & Inclusion Applications are invited for consideration for appointment to the following position: Department: Facilities - Operations Budget Title: Facility Operations Assistant 1 (SG-6) Local Title: Facility Operations Assistant 1 Tuesday-Saturday 6:30AM-3:00PM Posting Date: January 29, 2025 Classification: SG-6; $35,177 Duties: Facility Operations Assistants perform a variety of routine unskilled and semiskilled manual tasks related to the operation and maintenance of State-owned buildings and facilities, the surrounding grounds, and the vehicles and equipment used in maintaining these sites. Qualifications:
Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information. A valid NYS Driver’s license. Ability to assist in maintaining the appearance and condition of grounds, athletics fields, walkways, and roads at State facilities. Ability to perform general grounds maintenance tasks such as clearing sites, raking or tilling soil, mowing lawns, applying fertilizers and pesticides, cutting brush and wood, trimming and removing trees and shrubs, maintaining roads and sidewalks, and removing snow, trash and other obstructions from the building and surrounding areas.
