Job Description
Overview and Responsibilities Saint Mary’s University is seeking to hire an Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach. This full-time position will assist with all facets of the women’s volleyball program. This is a 12-month position that has multiple responsibilities throughout the academic year. Salary: $28,800 annually Serve as assistant coach for NCAA Division III intercollegiate women’s volleyball program. Travel to regional and national recruiting events, identifying and prospecting potential recruits for women’s volleyball program. Perform essential coaching duties including, but not limited to: on-court coaching skill development scouting of opponents practice planning
Coordinate office tasks such as mailings, e-mail communication, visit correspondence, travel scheduling, equipment inventory, budget oversight, social media, etc. Oversee, direct and supervise part-time staff and student workers as needed. Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary’s University as a Lasallian Catholic institution. Perform secondary duties as assigned by the athletic director. Essential Skills and Functions: Strong communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic work environment. Strong passion for the profession and a positive team member on our staff. Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends; travel with team. Exemplary ethical conduct and commitment to follow all applicable NCAA Division III and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules and regulations. Self-motivated to work independently on multiple projects. Forward-thinking with effective problem-solving skills. Able to interact with a large range of personalities and value sets. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, students, recruits, and other stakeholders. Observe safety guidelines and follow safety procedures established by the university. Qualifications Experience and Education: Bachelor’s Degree, required. Master’s Degree, preferred. 1-3 years of experience coaching women’s volleyball in a high school or college setting. May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.
