Overview Life Enrichment Assistant I (Activities)
University Place is a vibrant senior living community in West Lafayette, Indiana, offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, assisted living, memory support assisted living, and skilled nursing/long-term care.
The onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community. Duties and Responsibilities Plans, organizes, and leads a variety of activities and functions for residents in groups, one-on-one visits, or for specialized needs. Provides related activity and assessment data for completion of care plans, MDS, RAPS, triggers, and progress notes, as needed or requested. Demonstrates initiative to perform expected department tasks independently. Maintains cleanliness of supply cart and work areas. Assists with transportation of residents for outings, trips, and activities, as assigned. Follows safety policies and procedures for transporting residents, ensuring wheelchairs are secure prior to operating the bus. Operates the bus chair lift in a safe manner. Reports changes in resident’s condition and participation to Director of Life Enrichment. Works collaboratively to meet departmental and facility needs, which may require the performance of other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications Patience and understanding of the senior population. Ability to engage in arts and crafts. Assist in developing a weekly recreation calendar based on the residents' recreational interests.
