CNC Setup Operator
Job Description
Operates machines and equipment to cut, shape, form, or grind metal work pieces to specifications. This includes loading and unloading parts, basic part inspection using hard gauges and measurement tools, routine 6S, laboring on/off, transacting completions and scrap, part quality inspection using a CMM, changing broken/worn tools, performing minor preventive maintenance, following setup instructions to switch between jobs, interpreting CMM reports, making CNC program offsets for shift/drift or tool length/wear compensation, and making basic CNC program changes. In this Role, your Responsibilities Will Be:
Responsible for completing job changes on machines, making offsets, basic program changes Be responsible for the operation of at least three machines (Gear shapers, lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, saws) Capable of identifying tool wear and interpret Quality Lab CMM reports. Able to use and interpret various gages and recording instruments. Loads/unloads fixtures according to work instructions. Be responsible for changing tooling inserts and keeping parts in tolerance Train other CNC Operators on machine tending, laboring on/off and transaction completions and scrap Measures work pieces for conformance to specifications. Supports and adheres to all Safety, 5-S, ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Quality and Machine efforts and responsibilities Be required to load raw material on fixtures and handle materials that come out of the machine

High School Diploma or GED At least 1 year of experience operating CNC machines, or equivalent proven track record Must be able to add & subtract decimals & fractions Must be able to convert fractions to decimals Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Ability to read production/shop orders Ability to use precision instruments Lean and 5S experience
