Job Summary The I&E Technician position is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of all electrical and pneumatic equipment and other associated equipment for all Murphy's US Onshore production facilities. The I&E Technician will need to ensure that these activities are done safely, meet regulatory deadlines and requirements, follow approved procedures, and are cost effective. It is expected that the position holder will help drive both safety and maintain cost control by helping to build a culture based on "management by exception". In order to succeed, the position holder will need to have strong interpersonal skills to interface and influence other organizations both in the field and Houston offices. This will require excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication of decisions and setting the desired direction of the Maintenance program.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and support with field I&E teams to include both company and third-party technicians Establish a continuous improvement culture that challenges "normal operations" on a daily basis Influence Maintenance, and other Functions, to adopt Murphy's "management by exception" philosophy Supports the implementation of SAP throughout all aspects of operations Coordinates I&E maintenance activities for facilities repair, installation and modification using SAP Assist in design and planning of all new customer connections and optimization of both new and existing LACT, field data, storage and terminal facilities where automation or electronic management is required Assist in the red line drawing of facilities to maintain current viable records Provide detailed material and labor project estimates Coordinate and oversee scheduled integrity testing of various critical safety and protective devices per applicable codes and procedures Ability to effectively interact with other Functions (HSE, Operations, Engineering, Accounting etc) Perform installation, problem diagnosis, fault analysis and repair of computerized control systems relative to the following: metering and control devices, control systems (PLC, relay logic, etc.), read and draw basic electrical schematics, basic knowledge of local area networks, MODBUS over I/P, component level repairs to electronics circuits, motor operated valves, motor control centers, medium voltage switch gear and power handling circuits, electronic tank gauging system, operations computer hardware and associated equipment Supports special projects as deemed necessary by the Maintenance I&E Foreman Networking knowledge highly desirable Will be using programs such as PCCU, Studio 5000, Indusoft Web Studio, Various products for Rosemount GWR's Proficient with a multimeter and its various functions
Licenses/ Certifications
Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 2 years of experience with terminal automation systems, SCADA or other suitable industry experience Education, or direct experience, with production equipment including tanks, valves, positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and safety and production systems This position will be required to work weekends and on-call once a month or as needed. The successful candidate will live within 70-miles of Jourdanton, TX.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications Vocational training desirable Physical requirements typically include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and wearing various personal protective equipment (PPE) in extreme variations of temperature year-round.
