Location: 1981 E Maple St, North Canton, Ohio 44720 Practice Name: Washington Square Eye About the Job The optometrist will conduct eye exams for Acuity Eyecare group and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license. The optometrist will support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and educating patients on eyecare. Responsibilities Conducting eye exams Establishing long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education Performing verbal interviews with patients prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for their visit, as well as their visual wants and needs Instructing, recommending, and advising patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular diseases, as well as visual wants and needs Handing off patients to support staff with recap discussions Generating patient loyalty and promoting the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values Performing vision tests and analyzing results Diagnosing sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases Prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications Recommending or providing treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation Providing pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery Evaluating patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and referring patients to other healthcare providers within the proper time frame Promoting eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses and how often to have their eyes examined Clearly communicating to the opticians and other sales staff appropriate recommendations for the best possible lenses with the latest technology coatings and designs Requirements Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution Must have passed all optometric state boards Benefits 401(k) with Match Medical/Dental/Life/STD/LTD Vision Service Plan Employee Vision Discount Program HSA/FSA PTO Paid Holidays *Benefits applicable to full-time employees only.
