Inventory Accountant
Job Description
Company: Healthcare company is looking for an Inventory Accountant that will be responsible for supporting inventory accounting processes and maintaining ledger accounts for financial statement preparation and reporting. This role requires a strong accounting background in inventory management within mid-to-large distribution or manufacturing companies, along with expertise in accounting systems and the general ledger. Responsibilities:
Prepare and reconcile financial accounts, record journal entries in the ERP system, and maintain transaction documentation. Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and researching ledger posting errors in collaboration with warehouse teams. Monitor inventory transactions, reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger, and support business units with inventory-related activities. Assist in improving internal controls related to inventory and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in inventory accounting or general ledger accounting, with knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and account analysis/reconciliation. Preferred experience in accounting for distribution or billing services businesses and proficiency in ERP systems, especially Microsoft Great Plains or D365. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
