Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is essential to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our production facility. You will play a key role in the identification, development, and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, as well as corrective maintenance solutions for various instrumentation systems within the facility. This position relies on independent decision-making and technical expertise in the field, and may occasionally involve supporting projects and maintenance activities at other facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instruments including transmitters, PLC systems, meters, analyzers, and automatic valves. Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment. Develop, plan, schedule, coordinate, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance. Assist in root cause analysis activities for significant failures. Read and maintain P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams following SOP, QA, and MOC policies. Identify and resolve chronic or long-term instrumentation asset issues. Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation for instrumentation work. Identify and implement new technologies, as well as specify new instrument systems. Develop and train new and current instrumentation specialists at the facility. Lead the implementation and compliance of Procal (Instrumentation Calibration/Asset management Software). Assist in FDA and cGMP validation activities for instrumentation systems. Assess equipment performance data to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency. Provide on-site or remote assistance and direction to plant or contract personnel for safe and effective work. Drive the resolution of critical issues with urgency and integrity.
Please note that this role involves a combination of office work and fieldwork, and requires working in various weather conditions. You must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts, and crane baskets. Availability during off-hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as approximately 25% overnight domestic travel, is required to support the I&E needs of the region.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or Engineering Technology Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance of instrumentation systems in an industrial setting. Proven experience with installation, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and calibration of industrial instrumentation systems. Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for instrumentation systems. Excellent communication and collaborative skills. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated self-starter with effective multitasking abilities and results-oriented approach. Proficiency in standard computer software, including MS Office and email. A valid driver's license and capability to operate a company vehicle safely. Willingness to undergo random drug testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes. Knowledge of process control systems and methodologies in industrial manufacturing. Experience with Asset Management systems, such as Infor EAM and Procal.
