Job Description
Title: Paralegal - Claims, Litigation and Risk Management
Overview:
Hixen Search Group has partnered with a nationally ranked, quickly growing firm in the insurance industry. The company is heavily involved in M&A work and plans to continue to expand rapidly. The role will support the companys in-house legal team and partner agencies. The position will be focused on claims, litigation and risk management. The new role is available due to the fast-paced growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
Create, organize and maintain claims/incident database including regulatory inquiries and responses
Curate all corporate insurance policies
Reconcile all claim acknowledgements received from carriers with original claims notice forms submitted and/or its partner agencies to carriers
Send out, collect and catalog quarterly claims surveys from partner agencies
Maintain loss report
Collect and evaluate all subpoenas submitted to carriers
Maintain a calendar of significant events relating to all active claims, regulatory inquiries and judicial processes

Desired Candidate Profile:
Bachelors Degree preferred, Paralegal certification is a plus, but not required
5+ years of experience in paralegal work, specifically in claims + litigation at mid/large law firm or corporate legal department
Tech savvy and proficient in litigation software
Knowledge of litigation procedures and protocols essential
Organized, excellent attention to detail
Team player with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
