Oral & Facial Surgery of East Alabama & West Georiga in Columbus, GA is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator. This team member will demonstrate complete responsibility for the scheduling of appointments and establishing rapport with patients, fellow team members, and members of the community.
The Scheduling Coordinator will represent our practice with a smile as they manage the schedule for practice efficiency and follow the established scheduling policies so that patients have a positive experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Greet patients in a warm and friendly manner. Master the use of the computer scheduling system. Review the schedule each morning to ensure the day is set up to flow smoothly and review the schedule each afternoon to ensure the next day’s schedule is set up to flow smoothly. Generate and distribute daily schedule to appropriate staff members. Work with the clinical team to identify appropriate gaps for scheduling emergency patients. Schedule patient appointments following documented scheduling policies. Notify appropriate clinical team members of changes occurring in the schedule throughout the workday. Coordinate with Treatment Coordinator to identify patients owing initial or delinquent payments. Gather and communicate to the clinical team information regarding emergency patients. Maintain updated patient information in each patient record. Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries professionally with outstanding customer service. Organize and maintain all filing systems for quick retrieval of information. Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and practice policies at all times. Performs other related duties and projects as necessary or assigned. Requirements: 1+ years of Dental and/or Medical Office experience is preferred, but not required. Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills. Must be detailed oriented, organized, and reliable. Professional attitude and appearance. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Understands and accepts responsibility for the schedule. Basic knowledge of dentistry and oral surgery. Basic computer knowledge. Follow protocols and guidelines as they relate to patient privacy (HIPAA/OSHA).
