OVERVIEW The Family Resource Initiative Program Associate provides critical support to the Associate Director and the Outreach Pastor/Director of the Family Resource Initiative at Wooddale Church. The primary functions of this role are to manage and administer the intake process for families and to lead efforts in volunteer recruitment and engagement. This role is focused on assisting with the effective implementation of the Brighter Futures Housing Assistance Program, equipping and recruiting volunteers, and maintaining relationships with community partners and partner churches. The Program Associate will engage directly with families participating in the Housing Assistance Program, provide administrative and logistical support across program areas, and collaborate with the Family Resource Initiative team to further the mission of equipping families with holistic, gospel-centered resources. Additionally, the Program Associate will play a key role in volunteer recruitment and leadership to ensure robust support for all program areas. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Program Support - Provide logistical and administrative support for Brighter Futures assets including: Housing Assistance Program: Administer the intake process, manage applications, and track family progress. Support volunteer Family Partners by ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to assist families. Assist in evaluating program outcomes and reporting results. Develop supporting supportive? relationships with families in the Housing Assistance Program, providing encouragement and guidance. Act as a liaison between families and volunteer Family Partners to ensure relational and practical needs are met.
2. Volunteer Leadership and Recruitment
Support efforts to recruit, train, and equip volunteers for various program areas, ensuring alignment with the mission and goals of the Family Resource Initiative. Develop and implement a strategy for volunteer recruitment, including outreach to the congregation and community. Collaborate with the Communications Team to create promotional materials and campaigns for recruiting new volunteers. Build relationships with prospective volunteers, helping them identify areas where they can best serve based on their skills and passions. Support Volunteer Leaders in managing their respective teams, scheduling, resolving challenges, and ensuring high-quality program delivery. Provide regular encouragement, training opportunities, and resources to volunteers to foster engagement and retention. 3. Church Partnerships and Community Engagement Build and maintain relationships with local churches to foster collaboration and mutual support. Collaborate with community leaders, social workers, and local organizations to strengthen program reach. Represent the Family Resource Initiative at community meetings and events as needed. 4. Administrative Leadership Manage program documentation, including intake records, tracking tools, and communication logs. Coordinate volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate support for program areas. Collaborate with the Communications Team to share program updates and impact stories. Provide regular reports and updates to the Associate Director and Outreach Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail. Experience in volunteer coordination or program support in a church or nonprofit setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for building relationships. Proficiency in MS Office and video conferencing tools; experience with tools like Asana or similar project management tools is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to handle confidential information professionally and with sensitivity. Must subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church. Must be or become a member in good standing of Wooddale Church. Regular participation in public worship at Wooddale Church is required. Spanish language skills preferred.
RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Family Resource Initiative Associate Director Collaborates with: Outreach Pastor, Family Resource Initiative Team, Volunteer Leaders, and Community Partners.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Part-time, 28 hours per week with occasional flexibility for evening or weekend events as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting for extended periods of time and working on a computer. Lifting boxes of clothing for the Clothing Closet or items for Care Portal recipients.
Benefits & Compensation:
Wooddale Church offers part-time employees participation in the 403(b) retirement plan and a generous PTO policy. Projected compensation range is $22 - $25 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience.
