Job Summary: The Electrician II is responsible for executing electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a variety of systems, including lighting, intercom, alarms, and safety distribution components. The technician will ensure the safety and functionality of electrical circuits by inspecting and replacing components, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the compatibility of various electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Installation: Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm systems, lighting, intercom systems, and other related electrical components. System Setup: Install and maintain safety and distribution components such as switches, resistors, and circuit-breaker panels. Wiring & Connectivity: Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility and proper functioning of components. Conduit & Wiring Assembly: Prepare and assemble conduits, and route wiring through them according to specifications and safety standards. System Maintenance & Prevention: Routinely inspect and replace old wiring, insulated cables, and clean circuits to prevent system breakdowns. Troubleshooting & Repairs: Effectively troubleshoot electrical systems to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged units. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical installations and maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Journeyman certification is preferred. 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, with hands-on experience in electrical system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and wirin Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues effectively. Experience with the installation and maintenance of lighting, intercom, alarm, and distribution systems. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to electrical work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Journeyman certification or equivalent electrical certification. Experience working in commercial or industrial environments.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry tools and materials, up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in various environments, including those with moderate noise or temperature fluctuations. Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
