Overview:
About the Holly Springs Salamanders The Holly Springs Salamanders are a member of the Coastal Plain League. The CPL is a 15 team Collegiate Summer Baseball League ranging from Virginia to Georgia.
About The Trainee Program The Holly Springs Salamanders are looking for motivated and dedicated trainees looking to begin or continue their careers in the sports industry. The trainee program is open to college students and recent college graduates. Trainee’s will be required to work all home games and some non-game day events and office requirements. This program is designed to showcase behind-the-scenes of working for a sports organization.

Timeline: May 7th – August 11th.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Utilize Ticketmaster to sell tickets for games and events, as well as full-season plans, partial season plans, mini plans, and group outings Keep organized by utilizing the CRM system to track calls, emails, and other communications. Pitch ticket packages via in-stadium tours, outside appointments, and phone prospecting Provide excellent customer service over the phone and in-person. Organize Will Call tickets prior to gates opening. Assist with execution of corporate partnership elements. Game night responsibilities, including but not limited to, answering the incoming sales line, assisting with sales initiatives, working the will call table, and/or prospecting clients at the ballpark. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Background:
Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Strong interest in sports and sales with a desire to build a career in the sports industry.
Sales and Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to confidently engage with clients and provide exceptional customer service. Comfortable making cold calls and conducting in-person or virtual sales presentations.
Organizational and Technical Skills:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM systems or sales software.
Interpersonal and Teamwork Abilities:
Outgoing and personable with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
Availability and Commitment:
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the baseball season. Commitment to attending all home games and other events as part of sales duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in sales, customer service, or the sports industry. Knowledge of baseball and a passion for engaging fans and clients. Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.

Mobility and Activity:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the stadium or office for extended periods.
Frequent movement around the stadium during games or events to engage with clients, assist with setup, or attend to ticketing needs.
Lifting and Carrying:
Must be able to lift and carry materials, such as promotional items, event supplies, or ticket packages, weighing up to 20–30 pounds.
Communication and Presentation:
Strong verbal communication skills to interact with clients and deliver presentations. Visual and auditory acuity to use a computer, phone, and other office equipment effectively.
Work Conditions:
Flexibility to work outdoors during games and events, which may include varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, or cold. Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
