About the Role Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a comprehensive cloud infrastructure platform for businesses of all sizes. As a crucial part of this ecosystem, the AWS Commerce Platform (CP) facilitates the sale of AWS services to customers and helps them manage their infrastructure costs effectively. The Risk, Audit, Accounting, and Compliance (RAAC) team is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Risk Management Specialist to join our mission of ensuring compliance with government regulations, particularly focusing on SOX and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Key Responsibilities As a Senior Risk Management Specialist, you will:
Develop and maintain an extensive library of relevant government regulations that affect AWS Commerce Platform operations. Create yearly launch forecasts and actionable plans to ensure timely onboarding of crucial applications and controls. Collaborate with Accounting teams to produce and maintain accurate Revenue Process Flowcharts for the Commerce Platform. Support various compliance initiatives, including Data Retention and region-specific audits. Lead cross-functional projects related to compliance across the Commerce Platform organization. Establish operational mechanisms to address recurring challenges and improve processes.
A Day in This Role In this dynamic position, you will juggle the requirements of both SOX financial controls and GDPR data protection standards. Your day-to-day will involve extensive communication with various departments, including legal, IT, internal/external audit, and finance, to ensure robust adherence to complex regulatory frameworks. Expect to engage in thorough documentation and reporting, coupled with proactive control monitoring and risk mitigation.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - 3+ years of experience in compliance program management, audit, or risk management - Demonstrated ability to establish partnerships with internal and external teams - Knowledge of Regional/Global Compliance Regulations (GDPR, SOX)
